Her first appearance on television was during the latter half of 1990 and was later seen in several films, including The Woods, Blue Car Murder by Numbers Blood and Chocolate as well as The Anna Nicole Story. Bruckner began acting when she was 11 years old. She made appearances in two shows on television, including the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful, in 1999. When she was 15 years old, Bruckner had her first leading role in the independent movie Blue Car (2002) in where she played an high schooler who was who was involved in a relationship with her teacher, played by David Strathairn. The film reviewer Roger Ebert wrote that Bruckner negotiates this difficult script with a complete confidence. Bruckner was nominated for the "Best Female Leading Actress" by Independent Spirit Award. Her upbringing included three siblings, two sisters and a brother. Hungarian is her native language, which she practices regularly in order to remain fluent. Bruckner lived in Hollywood, California with an Hungarian mother and Russian father. The couple been divorced. The paternal grandfather of Bruckner who was German died in the past. In Hungary Her parents were first met and then immigrated to America in 1984, via the refugee settlement of Italy. She is the younger sister of two brothers, and also have two sisters.
